Bio

I was born in Seoul, South Korea, where my grandfather — late in his life — opened a photo studio. Years later, my father gave me a camera for my 16th birthday, right before he passed away. But none of that was the reason I chose to study fine art photography at Sarah Lawrence College. I just wanted an excuse to get out, walk around, and see the world.

I shot for magazines, brands, and eventually went on to write and direct three feature films—one of which received Best Picture awards. Afterwards, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do next, until someone advised me: “Do what you love most.”

So here I am — photography. These are some pictures I’ve taken.
